Therapies
There are many approaches to psychotherapy, each emphasizing different aspects of the relationship between the mind (self), the body and the spirit (creativity / intuition).
Ultimately, the decision about which approach to pursue depends on the difficulties you are experiencing in your life. Certain therapies have shown to be more effective with particular kinds of problems. However, successful outcomes often have less to do with the approach itself and more to do with the comfort level and trust that you develop in working with your therapist.
Psychotherapy
• Do you no longer enjoy things that you used to?
• Are you experiencing difficulties in relating to others or navigating a life transition?
• Have you recently been diagnosed with a chronic illness that has changed how you look at life?
Sometimes people want to do things differently in their lives, but don’t know where to begin. If fear, anxiety or depression hold you back, you can work through issues with a skilled and compassionate therapist who can help you make peace with the past and nurture the skills to live fully in the present.
Movement therapy
What does your body know that your conscious mind hasn’t yet realized? Mindful practices such as t’ai chi, qi gong, yoga, walking meditation and other mindful practices can help you develop a deeper mind-body connection, discover new paths to insight and build physical, emotional and spiritual strength.
Expressive therapy
Understanding your creative and expressive self is powerful. Cultivating a spiritual practice is one way to still the mind in order to hear your inner voice. Self-expression through music, painting, drawing, journaling and other creative channels can also increase awareness.
Cognitive and Dialectical Behavior Therapy
These therapies are based on the idea that what we think influences how we feel, and how we feel influences what we do. Through acceptance strategies or by replacing negative thoughts or core beliefs with thoughts that are more balanced, you can change your life—often dramatically. Learn more.
Clinical Hypnosis and Guided Imagery
Clinical Hypnosis and Guided Imagery are two of the oldest forms of therapy known. Both involve focused attention directed toward a positive therapeutic outcome and can be very helpful in achieving desired personal change. Learn more.
